We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • Browse the site successfully on a range of devices with different screen sizes and resolutions (responsive design)
  • Resize text using your browser’s zoom function while maintaining a reasonable layout and readability
  • Navigate through main content links on the main page using the keyboard (Tab / Shift + Tab)

How accessible the website is

We tested the site using automated testing software AXE and manually using the University of Edinburgh’s website accessibility evaluation template.

We edited all possible elements identified by AXE but we are aware that there may be some aspects of this site that are not fully accessible. These include:

  • Resizing of content on mobile devices (visual testing has been undertaken but testing tools have not been run on mobile devices).
  • Embedded videos may not have accessible labels - where this is the case, an accessible link to the video is added above the embedded video.
  • Due to the template used, not all content on the landing page is organised into the standard web page sections that allow screen readers to figure out what each section of a web page is.

What we do about known issues

We work to achieve and maintain WCAG 2.1 AA standards, but it is not always possible for all our content to be accessible. The full guidelines are available at:

The dRTP Skills project team is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Non-accessible content

We continue to update the dRTP Skills website and will strive to resolve any accessibility issues that may arise from the addition of new or modified content.

Some documents and content are exempt from the regulations (such as live video content and PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services). The site does not currently contain such content but if they are added in future, we may not be able to make this content accessible. In such cases, if you need to access information in one of these document types, you can contact us and ask for an alternative format.

How we test this website

We tested the site using automated testing software AXE and manually using the University of Edinburgh’s website accessibility evaluation template in July 2026. We aim to re-test the website accessibility annually during the active period of the dRTP Skills projects.

The site was tested on a PC, primarily using Google Chrome (Version 150.0.7871.115).
